One Nation,One Syllabus.

Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal is strongly determined to implement a common maths and science syllabus for classes 11and 12 to improve the educationstandards , nationwide.

From the coming academic session, all school boards across India are likely to have a common science and mathematics, which will help students compete equally in the national level entrance tests.

Efforts were on to have a single national level entrancetest for students seeking admission in engineering, medical and commerce courses from 2013.This will smoothen the process in engineering, medical, economics and commerce courses.

The Karnataka Government agrees ‘in principle’ with union HRD minister,to have common syllabus for11 and 12 classes.

Former Vishveshwaraya Technological university (VTU) vice-chancellor k. Balaveer reddy called this proposal as “an amazing move “. He said “ If thermodynamic taught , it remains same where ever it is taught. So science & maths should have common syallabus”.

Bihar school education board chairman A K P Yadav said “this will bring all students from the country on single platform – to study a similar course and complete in examination like IIT’s & medical entrance.”

Sibal has been in touch with state board for the last five months to device a common course in schools.
