On the eve of Independence Day India pays its sincere tribute to its freedom fighters.


15thAugust, Independence day is the national festival of India and is celeberated to commemorate its freedom from British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation. Entire nation has been geared up to observe the 64th Independence Day on August 15th 2010.
A grateful nation pays sincere tribute to thousands of freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives or faced ordeal from the British rulers.
All over the country, flag hoisting ceremonies are conducted by the local administration.
The main event takes place in New-Delhi where the Prime Minister hoists the Indian flag at the Red Fort and delivers a nationally televised speech. In his speech,the Prime Minister highlights the achievement of his government during the past years, raises the important issues and gives a call for further development .The Prime Minister also pays his tribute to leaders of the freedom struggle.
A colourful procession showcasing India’s cultural diversity , symbolic depictions of the country’s advance in science and technology and a joint display of India’s military capabilities by the armed forces are an essential part of the Independence day celebrations.
